Citizen Magazine Issue 004: STRANGE WORLD redesign

This project involved a redesign of Citizen Magazine Issue 004: STRANGE WORLD, featuring Ayo Edebiri on the cover, as well as illustrating internal pages featuring parts of Ayo’s interview

I took a mixed media approach to creating the cover and inside spreads. I used tonal pencil, monoprinted paper, colour pencil, marker and digital software to create these playful, dynamic pages. I collaged elements traditionally because the organic, choppy nature of the collage conveyed the message of Ayo’s interview. My illustrative twist on the magazine visually communicates the themes of oddity, identity, and creative work, which are explored in the interview.
